๐ญ Halal Korean-Style Cheesy Corn Dog
Melty cheese. Golden crunch. Sweet and spicy toppings. All halal.
๐ง Ingredients (Serves 2–3):
Batter:
¾ cup all-purpose flour
1 tbsp sugar
1 tsp baking powder
½ tsp salt
1 egg
½ cup milk or water (adjust for thickness)
Filling:
Mozzarella cheese (cut into thick sticks or cubes)
Optional: halal chicken sausage or frankfurter
3–4 wooden skewers
Coating:
1 cup panko or coarse breadcrumbs
Oil for deep frying
Optional toppings:
Ketchup
Mustard
Cheese sauce
Sugar (Korean street-style!)
๐ช Instructions:
1. Prep the Filling:
Slide mozzarella (or cheese + sausage) onto skewers. Freeze for 15–20 minutes so they stay firm while frying.
2. Make the Batter:
In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, salt, and baking powder. Add egg and milk. Stir into a thick pancake-like batter. Let rest 5 minutes.
3. Coat the Corn Dogs:
Dip each skewer into the batter — it should cling well. Immediately roll in panko until fully coated.
4. Fry:
Heat oil in a deep pan. Fry corn dogs 3–5 mins on medium heat until deep golden brown. Flip as needed.
5. Finish & Serve:
Optional: roll lightly in sugar while hot (Korean style). Drizzle with ketchup, mustard, or cheese sauce.
Best eaten hot — with melty cheese pull!
