Halal Spicy Fried Chicken Plate (KFC-style Meal)

PART 1: Spicy Fried Chicken


Ingredients:


4 chicken drumsticks or thighs 

1 cup buttermilk or plain yogurt 

1 tsp chili powder

1/2 tsp paprika

1/2 tsp garlic powder

1/2 tsp black pepper

Salt to taste



For Coating:


1 cup all-purpose flour 

1/4 cup cornflour 

Same spices as marinade (just a pinch each for flavor)

Cold water for double-dipping



Instructions:


1. Marinate chicken in yogurt, spices, and salt for at least 30 mins.

2. Mix coating flour and spices.

3. Dip chicken in flour, then quick dip in cold water, then back into flour.

4. Deep fry until golden and crispy (about 10–12 mins).


PART 2: Mashed Potatoes + Halal Gravy


Ingredients:


2 medium potatoes 

1 tbsp butter 

2–3 tbsp milk 

Salt & pepper



Gravy:


1 tbsp butter

1 tbsp flour

1/2 cube chicken stock + 3/4 cup water

Black pepper



Instructions:


1. Boil potatoes until soft. Mash with butter, milk, salt & pepper.

2. For gravy, melt butter, stir in flour, then add stock & water. Stir until thick.


PART 3: Coleslaw (Crunchy & Creamy)


Ingredients:


1 cup shredded cabbage

1/4 cup shredded carrot

2 tbsp mayo

1 tsp sugar

1 tsp vinegar or lemon juice

Pinch of salt



Instructions:

Mix everything and chill for 15–30 mins before serving.


PART 4: Simple Dinner Roll (Optional but awesome)


Use store-bought or make with:


1 cup flour

1 tsp yeast

1/2 tsp sugar

1/4 cup warm water

1 tbsp oil + pinch salt


Mix, knead, rest, shape, bake at 180°C for 20–25 mins.
