Echo Bringer Chapter 4 : Howl Beneath the Crimson Moon

[Interlude: Rise of the Sonic Lord – Guild of the Seven Rings]

Scene: Guild Hall of the Seven Rings

The entire hall buzzed in stunned silence. Veterans, rookies, assassins, tankers, and mages all stood frozen as Masri—covered in Banshee Armor, golden and spectral—strode in like a king returning from battle.

In one hand: the severed helm of the knight boss.

In the other: nothing but pride and swagger.

Kael’Aer floated beside him, already muttering incantations to suppress the overwhelming sonic pressure Masri now unconsciously radiated.

> Veteran Guild Officer (whispering):

“That’s... Masri? The sonar guy? The one who cried in orientation?”

> Young Huntress (blushing):

“He’s so... arrogant now. I like it.”

> Masri (loudly):

“YES! It is I! Lord Masri, Evil Conqueror of Echo and Pain, Bringer of Sonic Doom!”

(pauses, grinning)

“Also part-time ghost hunter and full-time heartbreaker.”

He walked straight to the quest counter, slammed the helm on it with a sonic thud that cracked the marble, and shouted:

> Masri:

“Fame me. Fund me. Fear me.”

> Guildmaster (raising eyebrow):

“You were sent to scout ghost movement. You... exterminated the entire haunting.”

Masri raised a finger, slowly.

> Masri:

“Correct. But I also delivered vengeance, stylishly. That deserves a triple-S rank bonus... and a statue. Preferably shirtless.”

Cheers erupted.

Bards in the corner began to scribble lyrics.

Female adventurers whispered.

Men glared—or lowered their heads.

Masri jumped on the guild’s long table, posed like a villainous idol.

> Masri (projecting):

“Let it be known—SONIC BRINGER is not a mere radar class. It is an instrument of DOMINANCE. Of CONQUEST. Of WORLD-BENDING STYLE.”

(He activates Sonic Howl—just enough to rattle mugs and ripple skirts.)

“I, Masri the Sonic Sinister, shall make this world my kingdom. Men will crawl and beg. Women shall dance and serve—maid-clothed and loyal. The world is my castle. The sky is my throne!”

A dramatic echo rings across the hall.

Kael’Aer sighs, half-heartedly trying to tone down the broadcast... but lets it spread.

> Kael’Aer (softly):

“...You’re going to awaken several country-scale alarms with that mouth, you madman.”

> Masri (grinning, arms wide):

“Let them come! I’ll welcome them with a shotgun punch to the chest and tea at my victory banquet.”

[Notification: World Broadcast – Guild System Override]

> “UNKNOWN CLASS: Sonic Bringer – Potential Reclassification Pending...”

“WARNING: Personality Drift – Threat Level Rising...”

Scene Closes:

Masri steps down from the table. People part around him like waves to a tyrant. Someone offers him wine. Another asks for an autograph. And a quiet girl with a dagger stares long, muttering:

> “He might really become a Demon Lord…”

> Masri (to himself):

“Fame: started. Money: pending. Maid empire: in progress. Time to make the world… scream.”

[CHAPTER 4 EXPANSION: Howl Beneath the Crimson Moon]

Setting: Border of Yshmir Vale – Craterlands under crimson moonlight

Masri and Kael’Aer were tracking a corrupted Alpha Howler beast under a red sky, the air trembling with distant screeches. But far above—hidden among the cliff shadows—three deadly silhouettes watched.

The Assassination Trio:

1. Vireen the Silent Fang – Assassin from the Shadowblight Syndicate. A blade dancer with void-venom daggers.

2. Orrin Vex – A rogue sage expelled from the Academy, master of mental disruption spells.

3. Mech-Jackal 7 – A half-human, half-engineered bounty hunter with explosive drones and an echo jammer core.

> Vireen (whispering):

“Kill him before he awakens another tier.”

> Orrin (calmly):

“A sonic caster becoming famous? That breaks balance. He must fall.”

> Mech-Jackal 7 (grinning):

“The higher they scream, the harder they drop.”

AMBUSH SEQUENCE

Just as Masri locates the Alpha Howler’s trail, the night shatters—

Explosive orbs crash down from the cliffs, jamming his sonic detection. Vireen dives from above, striking at Masri’s back with poisoned daggers. Orrin unleashes a psychic shockwave, trying to paralyze Masri’s mind.

> Kael’Aer (screaming in warning):

“AMBUSH—MASRI!! Echo disruption—air’s poisoned—block your core!”

> Masri (grinning):

“They wanna assassinate me? During my world conquest arc?”

FIGHT BACK – SONIC BRINGER STYLE

Masri drops to a knee, boots glowing—activates Echo Shell Pulse, bursting the jamming field temporarily. He dashes sideways, dodging a dagger, and lets loose a triple shotgun punch at Mech-Jackal 7, destroying his drone system.

Kael’Aer releases a storm of feathers, intercepting Orrin’s second mental spell—but Orrin uses an illusion field to vanish.

Masri’s instincts flare. Even without sonar, he can feel air pressure shifts—he activates Sonic Whisper, a new passive he’s developing.

> Masri:

“You mess with the waves—you drown in the scream.”

He claps once—a concussive sonic burst shatters Vireen’s invisibility. Her blade grazes Masri’s cheek—but he grabs her wrist midair and headbutts her into the dirt.

Orrin reappears—but too late.

> Masri (activates Howl Art: Echo Dive)

A shockwave-enchanted tackle smashes Orrin into the crater floor.

ASSASSINS’ END

Mech-Jackal tries to self-detonate—but Masri activates Finger Flicker - Sonic Reversal, redirecting the explosive into the sky like fireworks.

Silence returns.

The moon above watches as Masri stands—cloak torn, blood dripping, grinning like a mad warlord.

> Masri:

“Fame comes with assassins, huh? Good. That means I’m doing it right.”

CHAPTER CLOSE:

Back at the guild, Masri turns in his quest... and three high-value assassin bounties.

Guild whispers become roars.

> Bounty Hunter Leader:

“...He killed all three?”

> New Recruit:

“...He turned the ambush into a show...!”

> Masri (loudly):

“I’m not just a caster. I’m a conqueror. The world won’t end in silence—it’ll collapse in ECHO.”
