Looking for a quick and tasty halal snack? This Sardine Roll with Paratha is not only simple to make but also budget-friendly. Perfect for sahur, iftar, or a cozy tea-time bite.
Ingredients:
-1 can sardines in tomato sauce
-1/2 onion (sliced thin)
-1 red chili (optional, for spice)
-1 tsp lime juice or vinegar
-Salt & pepper to taste
-1 tbsp oil
-Frozen paratha sheets
-1 egg (for egg wash, optional)
Instructions:
1. Prep Sardine Filling: Heat oil, sauté onions until soft. Add sardines, mash them gently. Add chili, lime juice, salt & pepper. Cook until slightly dry. Let cool.
2. Roll & Wrap: Take a paratha sheet, place some sardine filling in the center, fold both sides, then roll tightly like a spring roll.
3. Seal: Use a bit of egg wash to seal the edge.
4. Cook: Pan-fry on low heat until golden and crispy. You can also air-fry or bake.
5. Serve hot with chili sauce or your favorite dip.
Tips:
Add cheese for extra gooeyness.
Make ahead and freeze for busy days.
Sometimes the simplest meals carry the most memories. This one reminds me of cozy evenings, soft rain, and a warm drink. Alhamdulillah for comfort food.
