Halal Cheap Recipe: Mee Hun Sup (Clear Vermicelli Soup)


A warm bowl of Mee Hun Sup is like a hug on a rainy day. This Malaysian-style soup is light, hearty, and incredibly budget-friendly. Perfect for when you want something comforting without spending much.


Ingredients:


-1 pack rice vermicelli (mee hun), soaked

-1 chicken breast or 2 chicken wings (optional)

-3 cloves garlic, smashed

-1 thumb-sized ginger

-1 small carrot (sliced)

-A handful of cabbage or sawi

-Salt & pepper to taste

-Fried shallots & spring onion (for topping)

-Water



Instructions:


1. Boil water with garlic, ginger, and chicken. Let it simmer until chicken is cooked and broth is fragrant.

2. Add carrots and cabbage. Season with salt and pepper.

3. In another pot, blanch soaked mee hun for 1-2 minutes, then drain.

4. Serve the soup over mee hun and top with fried shallots, spring onion, and chili if you like heat.
