Crunchy outside, savoury inside – perfect for tea time!
Ingredients (makes 10–12 rolls):
-10–12 spring roll wrappers (popiah skin)
-5–6 crabsticks (shredded or sliced thin)
-1/2 carrot (grated)
-1/2 onion (finely chopped)
-A bit of cabbage (shredded)
-1 clove garlic (minced)
-1 tsp oyster sauce (halal-certified)
-Dash of salt and pepper
-Oil for frying
Optional: sambal or Thai chili sauce for dipping
Instructions:
1. Sauté garlic and onion until fragrant. Add carrots, cabbage, and shredded crabstick. Stir-fry for 3–5 mins.
2. Season with oyster sauce, salt, and pepper. Let it cool.
3. Take a spring roll wrapper, put 1 tbsp of the filling, roll and seal with water or flour paste.
4. Heat oil and deep-fry until golden brown.
5. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce!
